90 Points

Monday, December 31, 2007 - New Year's Eve at Steve & Barb's house. Decanted 1.5 hours. Very dark ruby in color. Aromatically this wine was quite closed. On the palate there were sensations of chocolate and sour cherries. Drying tannins on the finish. This needs at least another 10 years to really show what it has, but all the makings of a great wine seem to be there. Excellent with the melt in your mouth short ribs and not nearly as good on it's own. 50+12+12+8+8 = 90++
