Wednesday, April 26, 2017 - Gidgondas and Lirac (Chris H's home): Disappointing showing for this usually stalwart wine of Gigondas. Ruby/purple in color. The nose is earthy but not showing much else. On the palate, sweet red fruit. Almost cloying at first. Firm tannins. Clipped finish. Most likely a victim of the vintage but perhaps an off bottle?
