Friday, May 5, 2017 - A couple of years ago I wrote this "...certainly not a wine for the acidity-subdued fruit-craving Pinot lover. This is a hedonistic approach to Pinot with tons of fruit and a body that would make an Italian Cabernet seem shy." Well, this is perhaps still true, but another three years in the cellar certainly has done this effort a lot of justice. Everything is now more tightly wound together. Everything is in place and nothing is over the top. There is still ripe mature strawberry, red fruit and sun warm lemon curd. The palate is silky and exhibits are superb length on the finish. Acidity and any tannins are embedded in an adorable veil of fruit. Close to ten years in the cellar has really helped this wine come together and mature. It is hitting its prime drinking window right now, but my guesstimate is it will still drink nicely in five-six years too. A true gem and well worth seeking out if given the chance. (score is 94+)
