Friday, February 29, 2008 - This is nice. Definitely advanced, but plenty of life. On opening, an astringent finish that was just on the ok side of too much, and with air integrated more. Lots of dry fruited, brambly classicism. Pretty complex. A tad rustic. Very slightly oaky at opening, but if it didn't come in a Cuilleron bottle I probably wouldn't have even noticed. A nice, structured, classic vintage upper end St. Joseph. No rush here.

Tanzer's bottle note is right on, as usual.
