Thursday, June 22, 2017 - Barrel sample. The wine was dark purple in colour and offered nice red and dark fruit aromas, beetroot, some chocolate and some vanilla on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed red and dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, some spice and vanilla, with medium-level acidity, ripe, smooth tannin and very good length. The oak was present, but less obvious than in some of the other samples. The medium-bodied wine was very smooth and well-balanced, with good complexity and very good concentration. Seductive!
