Friday, March 14, 2008 - What a delightful wine. Winner of several (impressive-sounding) awards, including Gold Medals from the Shanghai International Wine Challenge in 2007 and another international contest, this interesting blend delivers a complex nose that weaves the scents of corn, parsley and rain into a wind-up that morphs into a smooth, round, utterly sumptuous mouthfeel. There is even a bit of cumin in the background. Dry and just a bit spicy on the pallette, this would pair well with a medium-weight red meat, fresh Jarlsburg or Swiss cheese, or, I'd imagine, any wild game dish that wouldn't overpower its delicate, yet extremely well-structured body.
