Friday, August 4, 2017 - Right out of the bottle, the nose is closed but still offers suggestions of red fruit and earthy spice. The initial palate is surprisingly lush and full, especially on the mid palate. A really lovely mouthfeel that is beautifully unctuous and savory. Offers flavors of tart cherry pie filling, smoke, and more spicy earthiness. Tame tannins are held at bay by nice, juicy mouth filling flavors. Lacks some of the traditional Cab Franc qualities, but in a good way. A real winner from the Finger Lakes. Savor on its own through 2019.
