Saturday, October 28, 2017 - Not anywhere near maturity, the '04 Gruaud Larose is in a good spot at the moment. Much less bretty than earlier vintages, it show nice purity of cassis fruit with a hint of grass, graphite minerality, and understated oak. Medium in body, with good freshness and a finely built tannin structure that opens up with some time in the air. For more obvious development, hold at least another five years.
