Saturday, November 18, 2017 - Dark ruby, bricking at the edge. Perfect aged Burgundy nose, with wild berry, strawberry, damp earth, and sous bois. An elegant, silky palate boasted plenty of rich earth flavors and enough acid to hold everything in balance. The 1996 Les Chaignots is gorgeous and still has a few years before its peak. Total surprise.
