Does not like this wine:

84 Points

Monday, December 18, 2017 - I used to love previous vintages of this wine. Claret was the best of the Coppola Diamond Collection, but this vintage smells and tastes quite strongly of green bell peppers, stopping just short of spicy jalapeño territory (two of my least favorite wine aromas/flavors). It has a solid base of dark currants on the smell and taste too, which I’m sure some people would notice first if you’re not as turned off by the green pepper family as I am. The green pepper smells wore off about 50% after a few hours of being open. The taste has some additional traces of chocolate or tobacco.

The body is medium/full with a smooth texture, medium finish, and low acidity. I swear previous vintages were more full bodied, smoother, with a more rounded mouthfeel. This vintage would still pair well with a steak, beef fajitas, and TexMex.
