Monday, January 1, 2018 - What a lovely place 1985 Pomerols seem to occupy, having reached an age where their naturally ripe-fruited personalities have been accented with the trappings of age. This opens with a tremendous lead-pencil nose and with a few hours of air, settles into a plummy, black-fruited, truffle, mineral profile. Just delightful. Full-ish on the palate, but really no excess weight. The balance is perfect, the finish long and smoky. I ought to cross the river more often. This has many years left ahead, being really only in middle age at the moment.
