Friday, January 5, 2018 - This is a great Alsace! Semi-dark and deep yellow colour. A nose that right from the beginning catch your full attention with peach, green apple, apricot. In the mouth the first sense is the deep sweetness (surprisingly high residual sugar, even for a ´09… googled it; 9g/l but it feels even higher). Very complex with apricot as the dominator, but also several other notes; peach, quince, pear and more. A very, very long finish with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. This wine was accompanying a dish of pasta with a cheese sauce with mushrooms, garlic and truffle. Perfect match. I also think this wine would be perfect for foie gras terrine. It has surely the deep sweetness to match this as well. This is just a bottle you never want to end. Oliver is a great winemaker. His style is outstanding. 92-94
