Saturday, January 20, 2018 - Lovely on the nose but flat on the palate, no length. In a weird spot or passed its best, not sure which so will wait a year for the next one.

Interestingly, I made a very similar experience with a bottle of 2004 Gruaud Larose which I followed over a period of five hours: For the first three hours in the decanter, the wine was so-so, a solid Bordeaux from an average vintage. But at the three hour mark *boom* the wine transformed into something captivating and reached heights you would not expect from a 2004! So maybe extended decanting would do the trick for you...
