Sunday, March 11, 2018 - Big fan of Abreu wines and haven’t touched my 13’s yet, but was curious how the Rothwell Hyde wine would taste from such a great vintage. I’ve had the 12 Rothwell, which was good, but not as food as the 2010. I decided to decant this for 6 hours prior to consuming. The palate flavors and structure were all Abreu. Loved it! But the initial aroma on the nose was a little too pruney for me. This is always a nose profile that is off-putting to me. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience... so much so that I didn’t finish the bottle. The following night, I didn’t expect anything much from the last glass. Hold on! This was much better. That pruney note was gone and the tannins were a bit more mellow. This is a great wine now! Much happier. Will buy more.
