93 Points

Monday, May 12, 2008 - Way too young, but my first 2005 to arrive so I had to crack one, and I'm glad that I did. A little heat quickly blew off in the decanter. Nose of cassis, licorice/anise and pencil shavings; gorgeous, smooth in the mouth, medium-bodied, present but medium-soft tannins (no doubt thanks to the 50% merlot); long, red fruit finish. Well-balanced and elegant. An absolute steal, and drinks above its price point. The rest are going into the cellar for a few years (2011-12?).

1/24/2011 6:42:00 AM - You were exactly right on the 2011 - 2012! It's showing beautifully right now! Although was it really 50% merlot? My guesstimate was around 30% or so...Did you check the technical sheet? I've always been curious. Thanks.
