Saturday, May 5, 2018 - At Matricianella in Rome. The nose was a nice mix of sweet red berries and cherries with a subtler undercurrent of earth and sweet herb aromas. I liked the palate, with its sweet and juicy Sangiovese acidity and light chew of tannins framing freshly ripe red berries. The finish had just that little tannic bite framing little notes of earthy mineral. Nothing spectacular, but this was a solid, yummy Chianti.
