Tuesday, May 27, 2008 - Extremely concentrated. Has a brown sugar quality to it that you get in some old vintage ports. I can even feel some fine grained sugary texture to this. Nose is carmelized brown sugar and dark fruits. A little thickly jammy at times but saved by a great sense of elegance and balance that offsets the sweet jammy side.
This is a little sweet for me but admirable. It takes it to the edge and will really shine and evolve with lots of age behind it. I like the 2004 O'Shaughnessey better. This is a bit much for me.
