Saturday, November 17, 2018 - Best of Austria and some other supplements (@home): Glas: Zalto Universal
Bottle opened about 2h before. Not Decanted. Clear, deep ruby color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose with lots of earthy tones, some lactic notes, black berries. Very deep and cool.
Bone dry, medium+, well-integrated acidity. High alcohol (14,5%) perfectly integrated. Not hot, but it gives the wine a certain sweetness. High, silky tannin. On the palate ripe red fruit, some maraschino cherry. Lots of extract. Very elegant, great depth and length. Drinks much easier than the more rustic 2005! Very young. Potential for at least another decade! 93-94+
