85 Points

Sunday, June 22, 2008 - Popped and poured. Plummy purple color. Nose shows lots of oak, some cherries and a little earthiness initially, which, unfortunately, vanishes after a short time. Palate hits hard with creamy, buttery oak, some black cherries in the background and smooth tannins on the finish. Extraction is solid, and flavors hold through the midpalate, through the medium finish. If you're looking for a massively oaked wine, this delivers that style well, but it's disjointed, simple and way overoaked for my taste, and not worth the price. 5+11+13+6.
