Monday, June 23, 2008 - Though the nose is voluptuous with cinnamon, pear, cocoa, lemon, pineapple, and stone (in that order!), on the palate this pale pinot blanc offers a taut (but not tight) bevy of apple, peach, and lemon fruits, with clean, vigorous acidity driving the prickly minerality into my cheeks and tongue. The finish may not be ethereal, but it is citric and satisfying. 15% of this wine saw older, neutral oak, and only 33% went through malo, though I wouldn't have guessed even that much.
