Saturday, January 12, 2019 - Exceptionally fine lafite. Much more advanced than the recently tasted 98 and much more open for business. It took some 2 hours to open up and shed the initial stiffness. But then it became Pauillac sweet and subtly multilayered, long and elegant as lafite can be at its best. A very good ambassador of the chateau, not hampered by the weak year at all. Chapeau! And plenty of years ahead.
