Saturday, July 12, 2008 - Honeyed nose with floral notes; on the palate, slatey minerality, more honey, and something fungal, truffle-like, a hint of botrytis, right in the middle palate. The wine is saved from sweetness by excellent balancing acidity, and silky viscosity makes for a great mouthfeel. Exemplary Alsace pinot gris which will continue to develop complexity in the bottle for some years to come.
