Tuesday, February 19, 2019 - 7 Days in Italy II; 2/17/2019-2/23/2019: Aged in chestnut (started oak around 1987 when Federico started). Federico says this never went through Malo before bottling, but probably went though it over time in bottle. ‘Best drinking vintage right now, but it was quite a nitemare in bottles for quite a while.’ Harvest on 10th of Oct, fermented in concrete, no temperature control and then time in old chestnut barrels.

The same comment about Malo in bottle is made about old Biondi-Santi.

Not much fruit left on the palate, but no real signs of oxidation either. Excellent bottle.
