91 Points

Saturday, April 6, 2019 - Lemon, butterscotch, quince paste, unripe tangerine, pumice, and lamp oil. Pushing out a significant amount of petrol and some flint on its initial voyage, creating a heightened drying effect on the back end. Less sweet than the Leitz Dragonstone Riesling served beside it.

On Day 1, this lacked any of the revered Alsace creamy texture that others from this region supposedly carry on their profiles. 86-87 points on Day 1.

Day 2 was much improved. Just the right amount of petrol on the very tail. A smoother delivery, with a much more silky texture streaming through the attack. Some pulverized limestone helped with lift, with a slightly drier-than-sweet profile. Still, this coated the mouth much fuller than on the initial pull the day before. Additional complex notes of marzipan and fondant added interest. Hold for another few years ideally. 90-91+ points on Day 2.
