Monday, July 28, 2008 - Randy's birthday at Tribeca Grill. This wine flat-out rocked and all of us loved it. There is a yin/yang here of power and finesse. A bit of a leaning towards the roasted chestnut/melted chocolate/tar side of Nebbiolo, more so than the red fruit and roses side. Excellent balance. Not too tannic. Drinking well now with only an hour or two of air, but lots of upward potential for many years of cellaring.
