Thursday, May 23, 2019 - Decanted 2 hours. Medium dark yellow. Nose is quite intense - floral with a mineral backdrop. Palate shows citrus orchard fruit, intense acidity and a mineral streak. Not the longest final but still quite long.
This is expressive and very nicely balanced and shows admirable complexity. Very convincing winemaking and great value.

5/24/2019 5:20:00 AM - Thanks for the note...especially the decanting info...I do usually decant great chards but didn’t when I last had this a year ago. I scored it similarly but didn’t quite get the wow factor some of the “pro’s” have expressed...e.g. Neal Martin at Vinous (95) and Jancis Robinson (18.5/20). I’m thinking it needs more time in bottle, but with screw cap letting zero oxygen in the bottle, not sure it will evolve in bottle, so decant is only possible solution...
Cheers!
