Wednesday, July 10, 2019 - Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): Absolutely gorgeous nose -- herbal, plummy, earthy, and extremely complex. This bursts out of the glass and doesn't let you go. The palate definitely follows through on the promise of that nose. Indeed, this is a rich and complex wine, with lots of fruit and earth elements, and there's even a bit of a juicy quality still (at age 28!). Fantastic merlot and a textbook example of the grape.
