Friday, August 2, 2019 - Smells like a Chinese supermarket. Great acid, nice texture, a little quiet on the mid-palate. Somewhat South African in style. Nice, but not a patch on their other wines. $38.
8/3/2019 3:57:00 AM - Like the not-so-fresh anymore fish and produce type supermarket smell? That would be a new one for me in Chenin! The vineyard is the same as the one we had in March that took 6 hours to become chenin-like, but there was no supermarket in that one.
8/3/2019 7:54:00 AM - Yeah. Like that combination smell that’s fermented-fish-soy, especially in smaller stores with lots packed into a small space. Was the first thing I smelled in the wine. I’m personally wondering if this is a reductive note, so time may help.
