Sunday, August 11, 2019 - A bottle I bought at Caveau Vignobles Jerome Quiot in Châteauneuf-du-Pape the other weekend. 14.5% ABV. €34 (the current vintage sells at around €25 which is more in line with the wine’s quality). Medium yellow-golden colour. Stone fruit, pineapple, some citrus, floral notes, fire stone and spice aromas on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed baked stone fruit, citrus, tropical notes, pineapple, a waxy note, butter, Chablis-like fire stone notes and lovely spice, with fresh, lively, medium-level acidity, a buttery and slightly waxy mouthfeel and average length. A nice, fresh, medium-bodied Châteauneuf-du-Pape blanc with average concentration that grew on me over time. I recommend serving at 15 degrees Celsius. The wine seemed to be aging very well, no need to hurry.
