Thursday, November 24, 2005 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Full-bodied wine that is dark ruby in color with a clear rim. On the nose, dusty dark cherries and allspice. On the palate, lightly tart black cherry liqueur, x-mas spices, and vanilla wood. Glycerin-heavy and mouth-filling with fruit, this lovely wine lingers for 20-30 seconds. Excellent balance with a sweet finish...very light touch of heat early that fades over the course of the evening. There has been such controversy over this producer, but I found this wine delicious, and it compared very favorably with some of my recent 2003 CA pinot faves like August West and Kosta Browne. Well done!
