Friday, October 11, 2019 - Excellent. Drunk alongside the 1999 and I preferred this because of the greater fresh berries character though developed. This was also under screw cap compared with the '99 under oak. 14.4% oak.
Colour: deep red/black berry.
Bouquet: developed fruit but still spicey berries, violets, mint, no mustiness I often associate with older wines under oak, like the '99 this night.
Palate: similar to bouquet, with leather and dirty socks, earth, dark chocolate, licorice brambly characters. Good berry, especially raspberry and blackberry characters, and berry mouth feel. Good length and dry finish.
