Wednesday, November 13, 2019 - Pale ruby with brick dust. Was very much hoping this would hold up against the outstanding 1996 I had recently; alas, this vintage did not perform as well. Nose is still powerful and fascinating with lovely gamey notes, but the wine is thinner on the pallet, more acidic and with a shorter finish. Still pleasant, but not at the level I was hoping for.
