It’s a bit more generous than the previous one, and more expressive too (especially on the nose), with a character of smoky bacon, slate, fruit and undergrowth, clearly an Ahr wine from good vineyards, but the palate is on the light side, and the tannins are drying. They made the most of what was available, but the limitations the vintage posed are also pretty clear.
