Monday, June 4, 2018 - First stop on our ninth day in Napa Valley is to O'Shaughnessy Wine Estate up on Howell Mountain. Second wine is their Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, which is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the remainder made up of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Petit Verdot, and St. Macaire.

Deep ruby red. A touch smokey on the nose with some cinnamon, cassis and red currants. Solid acidity with medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and a full body. Wild brambleberries on the palate with cinnamon, gravel, lavender and raspberries. Dry and long finish with baking spices. Drink till 2035.
