Friday, February 7, 2020 - Bottle off the wine list over lunch at Enorme.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dusty Tuscan earth, finely crushed rocks and chalk minerality, sour red cherries, black cherries with more air. Bits of mint. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), supple high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of classic sour red cherries, black cherries, glossy blackberries, sweet spices, cinnamon, underlying crushed rocks and chalky minerality. Lovely earth soil inflections with air. Medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Young fruity and oh so juicy enjoyable Chianti Classico. Very bang for the buck. Will develop well over the next 4-5 years.
100% Sangiovese. 6 months in large oak casks and then 18 months in French oak barriques.
