Saturday, May 16, 2020 - Had it blind at our monthly CWG-C* and nobody picked been Cab Franc nor from Italy until a few hints was given. It’s crazy how this wine stand up to Kapcsandy Grand Vin, Opus, and Checkerboad! I think this bottle was in a great stage, possibly at its peak. The body is medium +, very dark notes, cocoa and tabaco, and finish is fair. Very well made!

*Couples Wine Group - Comeback.

    10/9/2020 2:20:00 AM - Greetings,
I have one double magnum of this wine. When would it be a good time to open? Dave

    10/9/2020 11:41:00 AM - Greetings gteran76,
Several years ago I got on a double magnum kick for parties. (Do not know why as many, many years ago had large format bottles that ended up being a real let down) So this is my second attempt. Bought four double magnums with this being one of them. Is this mostly Cabernet Franc if not all Cabernet Franc? For some reason I have had great success with aging that grape in my cellar. Now I need Covid-19 to go away so I can have a large party. Dave

COVID will be among us for awhile, just be careful and get together with a small group of dear friends and enjoy it. Tomorrow is uncertain...

    10/9/2020 8:19:00 PM - Hi again GT,
I am talking a long time before we get together inside for dinner as friends. End of next year or even the year after that. With my health problems and age have to be very careful. During this past summer got together outside-six feet apart. Not the same but at least we could drink wine together. Dave

I’m 45 and fairly healthy in the immune system department, still I don’t want to be close to the China Virus. I’m minimasing as much as possible my exposure.

Keep one of those magnums until 2022, we might drink it together...

After waiting and waiting finally getting some wines shipped to me. Some were supposed to be shipped last year but the winery/retail store waited too long. They were going to ship the wine when the temperatures reached below freezing at night. I told them no way.

    Stay safe! Dave
