Saturday, June 20, 2020 - PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Pale golden to the eyes.

Small pour, first impressions per below: Signature Jura Chardonnay notes on the nose to me with savoury, slightly salt-preserved citrus fruits like lemons with peels, yellow fruits, mints and florals with oxidative hints but never overdone.

Really fine minerality and sense of elegance on palate here, with notes largely consistent with the nose albeit a little more “mikan”-like (Japanese mandarins, should be just my imagination...). Nice finesse on palate and finishes quite long indeed.

93-94 points.

Upon 3 hours uncorked rest in fridge, 1st official pour: Cool breeze reduction, concentration and integration on palate. Tasty, and to me this sense of light-footedness really inspires Chardonnay made in this region/style.
