Thursday, November 19, 2020 - Prior bottle was just over four months ago and my notes were more in keeping with my prior winery tasting (in November 2019), so serving temperature was quite possibly the reason my impression from July 2020 were so different on the fruit profile. Tonight, it should black cherry on the nose with red cherry highlights along with spice and earth qualities. Medium bodied with soft black cherry mixed with red cherry both upfront and through the middle. Mid-body brings in plum notes, good density and very good integration with the backside notes of tart black cherry, light blackberry and integrated tannins. The wine is certainly opening up and while not all blackfruit (the way it was in November 2019) it wasn't as red cherry dominant as my bottle from July 2020. It clearly has a number of years ahead of it as it slowly evolves, but should be able to maintain the high performance level even as the profile changes.
