Thursday, December 10, 2020 - Winemaking

Nine small, separate blocks of estate grown fruit harvested over a period of two weeks were selected for this vintage. The components were matured in twenty percent new French oak for 14 months, the result being a wine of complexity through vineyard expression and time in oak.

Vintage

Excellent growing conditions during spring led to healthy canopies and set the vineyard up beautifully for the rest of the season.A mild, yet very dry ripening season resulted in pristine fruit quality with an abundance of flavour intensity.

Colour

Vibrant deep crimson with ruby hues.

Nose

Fragrant cassis and crushed fresh herbs interwoven with subtle layers of dusty, earthy notes.

Palate

Up front cassis flavours continue on the complex palate with rich, dark chocolate mingling with the smooth and silky tannin structure.

Cellaring

Ready to enjoy now, although will gain complexity over the next five to eight years with careful cellaring.

Alcohol

14.0%
