Thursday, December 10, 2020 - Served blind. The color was deep ruby and clear and bright. No real obvious signs of age. The nose was quite charming with tobacco, red fruits, leather and perhaps the slightest touch of barnyard. On the palate, there were tart, dark cherries, currants and earth. The finish was long thanks to a spine of acid. I figured old-school California Cabernet Sauvignon but I wasn’t sure how old. I was quite impressed when this was revealed considering the age and my inexperience with this producer. Bravo! Tannins have integrated at this point. While this bottle could easily drink well past 2025, I would open and enjoy now, it’s worth it.
