Tuesday, January 12, 2021 - Decanted for 2-3hrs. Opened for thanksgiving to wash it all down. The wine had a beautiful crimson color on the glass, with a bouquet full of red and blue fruit, with some herbs and a bit of menthol as well as some vanilla / baking spices. On the palate more juicy red and blue fruit, with some herbs, earthiness and a bit of spice at the end. Long finish. Tannins were soft and wine had plenty of acidity to keep going for another 10years or longer. Saving my other 2 bottles for another 2-5 years.

1/12/2021 6:43:00 PM - Nice note. I opened a bottle of this for my birthday a couple weeks back and she was singing with a 2 hour decant. Glad I have a bunch more for the next couple decades...

I'll be holding off on my remaining bottles until next year to track the evolution. If you have a few, and haven't tried the 2016 vintage yet, open up--no regrets from my end. Thanks again for the note.

1/13/2021 12:00:00 PM - Liteitonfire: I agree that this wine is a bit higher toned than other higher end Rutherford wines. The depth of fruit, and secondary notes of vanilla, tasted oak are there, but framed by this juicy acidity.

    Thanks for the TN's Raflores86!
