Sunday, March 21, 2021 - Saturated garnet with just a touch of blue. Perfectly clear in the glass, but a fair amount of chunky sediment in the bottle. Photo uploaded for fun. 5

Nose is black fruit, menthol, mint, tar, fennel, leather, vanilla and earth. Complicated, integrated and Oakville typical. New world charm. 13

Drink up. Mature dried and stewed berries, cedar, vanilla, dust in the front. Mid palate brings leather and a bright lift as the medium plus body thins out to reveal lingering finish of black tea. 17

Overall experience is a solid 8. Great tonight with tri tip and baby backs.
