Monday, December 22, 2008 - Honeymoon in South Africa; 12/16/2008-12/23/2008 (Londolozi, Cape Town, Constantia, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschoek - South Africa): There was 5% Mourvedre in this. Very nice. Clean, understated nose, with savoury meat alongside perfumed blueberries. Palate was similarly clean and restrained. with more subtle fruit riding on fine grained but firm tannins and a touch of pepper. Some cocoa and bittersweet chocolate emerged at the medium-lengthed finish. A serious, Rhone-styled wine.
