Tuesday, April 6, 2021 - As they said in "Pirates of Penzance" (to paraphrase), "there are the remnants of a fine wine about it." I had this listed in my cellar as a 2005, but when I went to pull it, it was a 1995. Whoops. Too late. Ten years ago, maybe even five, it would have been good, maybe excellent. Today, a disappointment. The nose is lovely, the end of the finish shows what it once was, but in between...just unfortunate. This bottle was transported across country, and had been stored for the first few years in less than ideal conditions, but has been almost 20 years in a perfect cool cellar. If you have some, open it now, don't wait...and have a backup bottle.
