Sunday, January 4, 2009 - Deep ruby with just a bit of amber at the rim. Really nice old syrah nose with forest floor, bay leaf, black raspberry, truffle and tapenade. Fruit is fading a bit but still holds on here. Polished tannins and delicious, earthy flavors. The finish shows a nice violet tone and just a bit of acidity peaking through. Drink in the next year or two. Another nice surprise!
