Monday, September 6, 2021 - Double decanted about 2 hours before drinking. Gorgeous florals on the nose - lavender. Also dark fruit, meat and olive, but the wine isn’t ready (unsurprising). It’s not harmonious yet, it’s a bit muddled and jerky. Particularly on the palate, where it’s obvious that the material is of high quality, that the component parts are there, but they’re not working together yet. Drunk alongside the 2019 Ile de Feray and 2019 Rousset Crozes Hermitage, and both were more ready to drink and more rewarding at this stage. This wine, I’d not revisit for another 10 years minimum.
