Sunday, September 19, 2021 - Double decanted. Really expressive nose here with spice, pepper, earth and green bell pepper. The palate is very silky and energetic, making it extremely drinkable. In a night that included 2018 Palmer, 2017 Mouton, 2014 Cheval Blanc, 2005 Ducru-Beaucaillou and many other great wines (many of which, admittedly, were far too young), this was probably my wine of the night as it was just so interesting/engaging (and flat out delicious). Many at the table had never had a Rougeard, and I got the impression they were all quite surprised at how much they liked it. Drinking well now but has the stuffing and balance to age.
