Thursday, September 30, 2021 - Surprisingly, 14.3% alcohol. Golden-orange, excellent color for its age and not at all heading into tawny; aromatic, orange blossom, floral, honey; palate is medium-full bodied, retains some sweetness of youth but it has integrated and comes off very elegant, medium-plus acidity which balances but doesn't leap off the page, 14.3% alcohol is well balanced, orange and some citrus rind, some baking spice with cardamom, less saffron; finish is medium length. Rieussec with age is always enjoyable, as it sheds its intense sweetness and dense mouthfeel and becomes an elegant, mature wine. This bottle certainly reflects that evolution and seems at early maturity, though honestly will continue to evolve for another decade. A bit less complex on the nose and palate as top examples of aged Rieussec. 92
