Sunday, October 10, 2021 - 21st of 24, opened 2 hours, perfect level, cork 3 quarter stained, reasonably consistent notes since 1996 very fine to very fine plus with my last bottle in 2012 a more muted outlier at merely fine - rich dark slightly transparent ruby, leggy with little rim development; cassis lead, some bramble, graphite, cedar, classy, classic and layered; fullish, long, persistent, silky and complex, quite concentrated but not overly so, very fine balance so typical of 85, tannins nicely integrated (they were never obtrusive in this vintage), energy for further development and good for 20 years plus on this showing. VF+ (19)...........always a top 85, a vintage to my mind underappreciated, along with Lafite and Palmer.
