Sunday, January 9, 2022 - The wine is gaining weight and much better than my last bottle a few years ago. There is ample tannin and fruit to age another 10 years. I suspect it will further develop in the bottle and I will have another try at this in two years. The Lynch Bages seems more like a 2009 than in previous years. It has been a slow maturing wine compared to many 2009’s that were sweet and open from the start. The wine was closed in past years and now that it is opening up the grape is sweet with light to medium Pauillac characteristics. Very smooth throughout and pleasant to drink. Still has time to develop, but if you have a case then opening up one now is a start. I double decanted it for an hour.
